BTL & WORLD BASEBALL ACADEMY GETTING PREPARED FOR MAJOR TRANSITION - June 19, 2009
Between The Lines will soon be transitioning the majority of their operations into the hands of the leadership of The World Baseball Academy (WBA). The World Baseball Academy will be utilizing The ASH Centre as their global headquarters for the future of this organization with new programs being unveiled locally and internationally!

The World Baseball Academy recieves Community Achievement Award - January 29,2009
The Fort Wayne Sports Corporation recognized he World Baseball Academy for their current international outreach programming as well as their efforts to make our community the international destination for baseball federations from around the world. The Fort Wayne Sports Corporation presented a Community Achievement Award to the leadership of the World Baseball Academy at the 2009 FWSC Annual Banquet featuring Jim Hendry and Eric Wedge.

5th Annual - Eric Wedge Baseball Camps - January 24, 2009
The 5th Annual Eric Wedge Baseball Camps made another substantial impact for area athletes. Life lessons, perserverance, discipline, and respect were all major themes of the day with over 200 athletes in attendance!

The WBA & UPI work together in Cambodia - November 15 - 23, 2008
World Baseball Academy Executive Director, Caleb Kimmel, teamed up with Unlimited Potential, Inc to do baseball outreach work in Cambodia. Kimmel went with Former MLB Pitcher, Mickey Weston, into Cambodia helping the Cambodian Baseball Association continue to grow and serve as a positive outreach for young children in this country. The WBA and UPI also met with Jim Small, VP of Asia for MLB while in Cambodia. ------ UPI WEBSITE

Kimmel Honored with Charles Wilt Award -- November 3, 2008

The Hoosier Classic Summer Baseball Tournaments continue to move forward as being one of the most well established venues in the midwest. In 2008, these tournament venues brought in over 100 teams from 6 states and 2 nations resulting in over $1 million of economic impact for the community of Fort Wayne!

WBA Instructor Makes Immediate Impact!- June 8,2008
World Baseball Academy Instructor, Steve Sotir, experienced a season that exceeded all expectations in his first year as Homestead High School Baseball Coach. Sotir helped guide this group of athletes into the 4A IHSAA Baseball State Championship Game.

World Baseball Academy Heading Back To El Salvador! - March 27, 2008
The World Baseball Academy once again headed back to El Salvador on March 27 - April 5. While in El Salvador, Caleb Kimmel led several free baseball clinics for the El Salvador National Baseball Federation as well donating equipment for the continual aid of player development in this nation. Over 500 coaches, players, and parents were in attendance!

Darin Van Tassell, Tournament Director of the '08 Olypmic Games & WBA Instructor,, was in China for the MLB Promotions surrounding the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. San Diego Padres Spring Training Game in Beijing.. Darin continues to be a key international figure to growing the game of baseball on a global scale!

Between The Lines Increases Staff! - Feb. 2, 2008
In early February, Between The Lines hired Zach Walton to become the full-time Director of Operations. Zach is a Fort Wayne Native who graduated from Norwell High School and played collegiate baseball at IPFW. "We are very excited about the abilities and talent Zach brings to Between The Lines. He will be a great addition as we move forward with some significant plans to serve this community," explains Caleb Kimmel, Owner of Between The Lines. |

Almost 300 athletes participated in the 2008 Eric Wedge Baseball Camps held at The ASH Centre. Eric Wedge once again donated his time to create an event that truly made a difference in the lives of these young leaders on and off the field! The Eric Wedge Baseball Camps continue to serve as a Fundraising Event for The Fort Wayne Sports Corporation that is focused on improving lives through sports!

While Dr. Darin Van Tassell is not tending to his responsibilities at Georgia Southern University, where is a full time Professor of International Studies, he is assisting the International Baseball Federation with creating a new infrastructure of international baseball.

The World Children's Baseball Fair (WCBF) has selected Steve Sotir to be the Head Coach of the Entire Camp Operations. Mexico Mission Trip Creates Big Success! In April of 2007, Between The Lines and The Pointe Church partnered for a successful Mission Trip to Reynosa, Mexico. The trip included Youth Programming including Baseball Clinics, Soccer Games, Arts / Crafts, Dramas, Bible Studies, and Evangelism. |
Kimmel Speaks To All of Europe!
In March of 2007, Caleb Kimmel was asked by the Confederation of European Baseball (CEB) to be a featured speaker at the 2007 European Congressional Hearings in Vilnius, Lithuania. Kimmel had the opportunity to host a motivational seminar on increasing interest in baseball, finding and developing multi-dimensional leadership, and demonstrating the IBAF Rising Star Education Program.
